Portsmouth Dial A Ride

About this service
- Portsmouth Dial-A-Ride is operated by Community First for Portsmouth under contract to Portsmouth City Council
- The Dial-a-Ride service provides door-to-door transport using comfortable and modern minibuses.
- Vehicles are equipped with passenger lifts enabling transportation of wheelchair users as well as those requiring additional travel support.
- All drivers are checked with the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).
Who can use it?
- Disabled people of any age who are residents of Portsmouth city, and whose disability makes it difficult or impossible to get to a bus stop or onto a bus.
- Passengers need to register with Dial-a-Ride before they can make bookings.
How much does it cost?
- Fares are £2 single and £3.50 return (as at April 2009).
- Journeys are free for holders of Blind Bus Passes.
- Travel tokens are acceptable.
- We ask passengers to pay the driver with the correct change and on the outward journey.
When can i travel?
- Monday to Friday 8.20 am to 6.00 pm
- Saturdays & Sundays 9.00 am to 5.00 pm
Which journeys canbe undertaken?
- Dial-a-Ride members can travel anywhere in the city of Portsmouth except to day centres or hospitals. (These trips should be organised through your social worker or through the hospital patient transport service at 023 9273 7111).
- City boundaries for Portsmouth are: Mother Kelly’s (west) & Forty Acres, Farlington (east).
How can i book a journey
- You can book as soon as you are registered. To register, please phone and request a registration form or download one from this website.
- To book a journey, please telephone: 023 9287 7146 any time between 8.00 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. Monday-Friday
Note: we cannot accept bookings from messages left on voicemail or via a driver since the schedule has to be verified.
Advance bookings
- Bookings can be made for up to 3 days in advance (not including the day you call) e.g. if you call Monday, you can book trips up to, and including, Thursday. An exception is for the Saturday and Sunday bus, which can be booked from Monday onwards.

- Combined tickets for Dial-a-Ride and Portsmouth Shopmobility are available.

Inactive Module
You should publish modules to the "inactive" position and set the Menus to "All", for them to show up on pages where there is no active menu ID. This is a bug/feature of Joomla that causes only menu items in the "All" setting to show up.
