The drop-in volunteer surgery is at the Fast-Forward Centre, Arundel Street. It is every Tuesday 2:30 – 3:30, in these sessions we cover how to volunteer and discuss different options and opportunities where people can volunteer.
3 Steps to Volunteering online
step 1:
Log on to http://www.do-it.org and enter your postcode where required. The website will automatically bring up all the registered volunteering opportunities within your local area. If you find one that interests you, click on it and apply via the online registration form provided. If you are having trouble You can also phone 02392 88 2425 and make an appointment to come and see us.
step 2:
Your information will be passed onto the organisations of your choice who will in turn contact you to arrange a short visit and chat about the opportunity.
step 3:
They will then ask for two references and arrange a CRB check if required. If all is satisfactory they will phone or write to you to arrange a mutual start date.
4 Steps to Volunteering the face-to-face way
step 1:
Contact the Portsmouth Volunteer Centre by phone, email or in person. Arrange a suitable time to have the appointment and then meet with one of our staff.
step 2:
At the appointment we will discuss your interests, skills and availability. We will make suggestions as to the types of volunteering opportunities currently available and keep your details on file for future opportunities as they arise.
step 3:
We will contact local organisations on your behalf. They will arrange an appointment with you either directly or via us.
step 4:
They will then ask for two references and arrange a CRB check if required. If all is satisfactory they will phone or write to you to arrange a mutual start date.
