Policies and Procedures
The revised policies and procedures will appear on the website once each has been approved by the Board of Trustees.
Policies and Procedures for member groups
There are many templates and model policies for Voluntary and Community Organisations available.
The main rules to follow are:
Community First for Portsmouth abides by its Policies and Procedures in the interests of good governance, legal compliance, and maintaining quality standards.
Policies and Procedures are subject to periodic review. At the present time, all policies and procedures are being scrutinised in line with the rebranding exercise and legislative updates.
- Ensure policies are compatible with your type, size, and scope of organisation.
- If using a model policy, make sure it is adapted to suit your particular organisation.
- All polices need to be approved and adopted by the governing body e.g. Board of Trustees/Management Committee.
- Copies should be provided to all paid staff and volunteers, and anyone operating on behalf of the organisation who is bound by them. Adherence to them forms part of the contract of employment or volunteering agreement.
- Training/briefing for workforce members should be provided on policy content and implementation as required.
- Policies are living documents. Infringement of them by staff, whether paid or unpaid, can result in disciplinary action.
- Where an appropriate course of action is unclear, policies are there to be referred to for example in the case of any dispute or uncertainty.
- Polices support good practice and common sense – they do not inhibit it

Inactive Module
You should publish modules to the "inactive" position and set the Menus to "All", for them to show up on pages where there is no active menu ID. This is a bug/feature of Joomla that causes only menu items in the "All" setting to show up.
